The Cure

Rachel Maddow asked Alaska Senate Candidate Joe Miller if homosexuality can be cured.  He responded “it’s a state issue.”  Oh, ok.  He also thinks that there should be a federal marriage ban, even though he thinks it's a state issue.

The ReligiousTolerance.org site offers information on "Changing sexual orientation via reparative or conversion therapy."  They believe that homosexuality can be cured, as well.  However, the Office of Science through the U.S. Department of Energy (OSTI.gov) published a paper that says "A genetic analysis of 40 pairs of homosexual brothers has uncovered a region on the X chromosome that appears to contain a gene or genes for homosexuality."

So, can you cure a genetic thing?  Well, when you type "Curing the Liberal Disease" in Google, the first site that pops up is actually CuringTheLiberalDisease.com.  Obviously, some right-wing, conservatives believe, not only can homosexuality be cured, but liberalism can be, too.

Not so fast. James H. Fowler, a professor of both medical genetics and political science at the University of California, San Diego conducted a study that shows there is a liberal gene.  "DRD4 is the first specific bit of human DNA that predisposes people to certain political views, the study's authors claim." (FoxNews.com)

So, sorry all you conservatives out there.  Can't cure us.  It's genetic.
